Poor Momo Kitty has been sequestering himself in our room/closet/bathroom since Sierra came to live with us in August. Sierra chases him down like nothing I've ever seen before. Momo doesn't have claws, so he can't really put her in her place and teach her a lesson. Today, I was looking on Craig's List for a friend who is looking for a Boxer. She was supposed to meet someone yesterday for a free 1-year-old brindle Boxer, and got stood up. I've been scouring PetFinder and the Boulder Humane society, keeping an eye peeled, and since she found the one on Craig's List, I thought I'd look and see what's on there.
I ran across an ad for a kitty that had to be rehomed TODAY. The thing is - he looked JUST like my old cat, TC. When I left my ex, I had four cats. I took two, and left two with him. I had to take my Boo Boo Kitty, as I had adopted him as a kitten from the pound. So I wound up taking Boo Boo Kitty and Sophie. My ex took TC, who was my second-favorite to Boo Boo, and Miss Ellie. I wanted those two to be together, because I got them together, from a friend. It was REALLY hard to leave TC behind, but I couldn't not take Boo Boo, and TC and Miss Ellie had to be together, etc...so, I told my ex if he ever got rid of TC to ask me first. He wound up getting rid of him. Not to me.
Right before we adopted Sierra, Chris was talking about getting a kitten for the boys. At that time, we started looking for kittens at the pound, at PetSmart, etc. - this was about July of this year. Nothing. No kiddens. I started looking for cats, too, that had TC's coloring. The grey tabby with the brown pangere. Had to be a boy. Never seriously thought about adopting one, but kept an eye out anyway.
So, today I'm looking on Craig's List for Boxers, and run across his ad. Here are the photos that accompanied the ad:

The ad said he was great with kids (theirs was poking his eyes, pulling his ears, climbing on him and he just blinked and purred), great with dogs (they have several rescues) but that he was terrifying their cat - to the point she PEED every time he came near her!
So, Chris is in Japan and asleep, and I can't contact him to ask first, so I took a chance - I called on the ad, and the lady said that a rescue from Boulder was coming to get him - she'd call them and if they weren't on the way, I could come get him. She called right back - I could come get him. So we drove down there and she gave me the number to the rescue (Boulder). I figured if Chris didn't want another cat, I could call the rescue and take him before he even got home next weekend.
Luckily, I was able to talk to him about an hour after we got home. He's fine with a new kitty (to an extent; he's not excited about paying more for food and litter, but that's a no-brainer), as long as his allergies don't go nuts. Of course, it's going to be hard to tell anyway, because he's away for two weeks, and then coming home to a house full of critters anyway...so we'll see.
We haven't named him yet. Nick wants to call him TC the Second, but I told him that wouldn't work. I was thinking Recaro or Brembo. I'm thinking Brembo.
