Our New Neighborhood...
...is the schiznizzle. First, the week we were moving in, the neighbors on the main street, a couple houses down, came over to borrow our can opener. Last Saturday, when we were having our house party, the wife came over with a tin of freshly-baked cookies - like KILLER YUMMY cookies - the kind you can sit down with a book and eat the whole tin. Today, we got home from helping Peggy move some stuff - and the neighbor directly across from us came over with a tin full of assorted Christmas cookies. HOW SWEET is that? I really have to get with it. We love this stuff!! We knew we loved the location - how close it is to the elementary and middle school, and everything else we love (*cough* Super Target *cough* *cough*) but who knew the PEOPLE totally rock, too? I didn't know people actually did this stuff any more!!!
So, long story short - I'm going to have to figure out how to bake stuff that's actually edible, outside my very tolerant family.
Woohoo!

House Party, and Embarassed Dog
We had our house party yesterday - and wow, did we have a great turnout of wonderful friends! We had close to 20 people in the house at once, for most of the time.

Cassie brought her Boxer, Browdie, and he did awesome with our two, plus Chad and Renee's Sadie.
The temperature was in the 50s yesterday - and right now, it's -1*. Ugh.
Today, I tried to warm up Sierra for her trip outdoors - Cooper has a Lands' End coat, but Sierra doesn't have anything yet:

She looks real pleased, huh?

We Are Homeowners Now
Well, I guess not absolutely technically till we pay off the mortgage, but woo hoo!! We finally own a house! It's been HELL moving. I was afraid to invoke Murphy's Law by packing too early, so there was a lot of pack-as-we-go, and we've done this so often (move) that I thought this time would be relatively easy, too...but not so much. I guess it's like giving birth - the pain fades with time, so you'll do it again. The first night we were up till well past midnight, and the second night nearly as late.
Skyler starts his new school (walking distance, on our street) today - Nick will start his after the winter break.
The dogs have a HUGE fenced back yard and it's been AWESOME. Absolutely fantastic.
The kitchen is fantastic.
And my very first (and much anticipated) CMG order from Horsing Around will be here by mid-December. WOOT!
